ASCS Certifications Must be Renewed by June 30 Each Year. Here’s How to Get your Required CECs!

Posted on 05/31/2023

Air Systems Cleaning Specialist (ASCS) certifications must be renewed by June 30 each year, and NADCA requires six (6) Continuing Education Credits (CECs) for ASCS renewal. Wondering how you can earn those CECs? We have lots of options!

Annual Meeting & Exhibition Webinar Bundles

To earn required CECs, many technicians attend our Fall Technical Conference or Annual Meeting & Exposition each year, where they can earn all the CECs required for certification renewals. But for techs who can’t make it to an event, we offer recordings of CEC-qualifying sessions as a bundled webinar package that’s available for purchase, providing all six required CECs! You can watch the CEC session recordings at any time that's convenient for you. Then, you’ll take a short multiple-choice quiz, and if you get a passing score, you’ll earn CECs required for ASCS renewal!

So, even if you couldn’t travel to the 34th Annual Meeting & Exposition in March 2023, you can still experience some of the excellent content that was delivered to our in-person attendees — and earn CECs in the process. It really can’t get much easier!

The 2023 Annual Meeting & Exposition webinar bundle includes:

  • Raising the Bar: Defining the Role of Validation Clearance Testing for Mold Remediation and HVAC Hygiene Projects
  • Static Pressure
  • NADCA Energy Study Update
  • Using your CVI to Generate More Business

In addition, the 2021 and 2022 Annual Meeting & Exposition webinar bundles are still available, and include:

  • Quantifying Coil Cleaning
  • Air Duct Cleaning after Fire Restoration
  • Financial Implications of Your Safety Program
  • How Duct Cleaning Fits into IAQ Practices in Facilities
  • ACR, The NADCA Standard: 2021 Edition
  • COVID-19: Clear Understanding of Chemical Applications in Duct Work

The Annual Meeting webinar bundles are also available as a ‘Train-the-Trainer’ program. This means you can purchase the bundle once for yourself and complete the quiz after reviewing each recording. Then, you can utilize the recordings and the supporting session materials to train your own techs!

Read DucTales!

In 2021, NADCA launched a new program for earning CECs simply by reading a specific article in each designated edition of DucTales magazine, and then taking (and passing) a short quiz. For example, the cover story in the April/May 2023 edition, “Staying Safe on the Worksite,” is worth one (1) CEC. This program is available only to members.

Webinars

NADCA offers lots of webinars on a variety of topics that can be taken on-demand for training and educational purposes, and to earn CECs toward ASCS renewal. Simply select the webinar you wish to purchase, view the webinar and corresponding materials, and then pass a short quiz. You will automatically be awarded your CECs after passing the quiz.

Is it Time to Renew Your CVI?

Unlike the ASCS, the CVI certification only needs to be renewed every three years. Is yours up for renewal this year? If so, make sure you take the CVI renewal quiz before June 30. That’s it... there’s nothing more that you need to do to renew your CVI.
